This is a very true old Yorkshire saying, which was usually related to people earning their living by digging ‘muck’ with a pick and shovel.
You don’t need a pick and shovel to make money with your worm farm; unless you intend cultivating ‘blue - nosed’ worms,
selling the worm cast compost, land reclamation worms
and, ordinary bait worms, then you will need a wide - pronged fork and a garden riddle, (sieve).

Worm farming is not much talked about, (the less people who know about this lucrative, tax-free business, the better, less competition),
but bait worms, special land reclaiming worms, and worm cast compost are all in great demand.     ©
