Your body needs as many nutrients as possible to keep your immune system in good working order. Eating a well-balanced diet of fruit & vegetables, two or three times a day, is the best way; a little at a time - but often, gives your body time to digest one lot of food, before starting to digest the next. Put too much fuel on a nicely-burning fire, at once, and your fire will either start to smoulder or die out. Feed your fire with small amounts of fuel, as needed, and your fire will burn well - for as long as you feed it properly, with the right type of fuel. The same ‘philosophy’ applies to your own body.
